How To

How to make an omelet that is perfect

Omelets is one of my favourite breakfast foods. How do you make them perfect? I've tried many different methods and recipes, but none of them seem to work! So I wanted to share some tips and tricks so that you can make delicious, fluffy omelets every morn.

Before we start making omelets, let's remember that eggs are temperamental. You must get them fresh, organically, and keep them cold until you cook. The yolks and whites will not form properly if they aren't kept cold enough. This causes your omelets to look oddly colored. If you plan to cook the eggs right away, it is best to use room temperature eggs.

You can also separate the egg before you add it to the pan. Because this could cause your omelet to become curdled, you don't want any yolk to be mixed with any white.

You could end up burning the bottom half of the egg if the egg is added directly to the heat source. Instead, heat the egg for 10 seconds in the microwave before placing it in the pan. The microwave heat cooks the eggs just right without overcooking them.

Let's now talk about mixing eggs. When mixing eggs, it is important to thoroughly beat them. You can do this by turning the bowl of your mixer upside down. Then, vigorously shake the bowl. The egg will be thoroughly mixed in the bowl as the air is whipped.

The fun part begins - you need to pour the milk into your mixture. Pour half the milk into the beaten egg mixture and then fold in the eggs. Do not worry if you see streaks of egg; they will disappear when the omelet is flipped.

After you have folded your eggs, heat up the oil on medium heat. Wait for it to get hot. Once the oil starts getting hot, add 1/4 cup of butter to the pan and swirl it around to coat the entire surface of the pan. The lid should be carefully opened. Sprinkle salt in the pan. Salt will prevent the omelet sticking to the pan.

Once the omelet has formed, cover the pan again and wait for the top side to set completely. Flip the omelet with a spatula, or flip it upside down. Cook the other side for about a minute. Take out the omelet and place it in a bowl.

This recipe works best when you use whole milk.
